Tell me if this sounds familiar: You just moved in or are looking for a new home, you started shopping around online, you made Pinterest & Houzz inspiration boards, you bookmarked all your favorite items, you watched reruns of HGTV shows, you took notes from a YouTube video on how to DIY everything, and you have been stock piling coupons for Bed Bath and Beyond like nobody’s business.

You did the research and you gathered inspiration but ….

…Where on earth do you start??

DIY Thumb Print Vase

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since I have posted a DIY. I have been busy creating drawings and paintings, but I haven’t actually made a “craft” in a while that I could share with you.

I wanted to create a bottle that had an all-year round design, texture, and that was sculptural. So I have created a vase that Continue reading

Design Trend: Blue Hues in Home Decor

Boy oh boy, do I have the case of the blues (not the boo-hoo blues)!! Shades of blue were introduced at High Point Market this Spring. In the fashion industry, Pantone may have announced “Marsala” to be the fashion color of the year but blue is the color of the year in furniture, accessories, and home decor as well.

Today I will be sharing my inspiration and home decor in bright blues that you can add to your home and reinvent your space. Continue reading

3 Tips to Create a Fab Foyer

The entry of your home is the first thing your guest see when you invite them into your home. As the saying goes, “First impressions are formed within 7 seconds.” Create a lasting impression in your foyer that expresses your personality in a nut-shell. Show off your individuality but don’t show all the goods … shhh, save that for the rooms.

My dream foyer would be packed with bold style, sexiness, gold accessories, lucite, a statement chandelier, and Mongolian fur ottomans. At least, that’s what I am dreaming of right now – it changes.

Dollar Store DIY: Gold Dipped Glass Holders

Hello beautiful friends!

I am a little delayed on the my usual blog schedule because my first attempt failed.  I sprayed my glass holders and then added a clear acrylic coating to protect the paint from chipping. I guess my paint wasn’t completely dry and the clear coat actually removed all of the metallic paint. So I had to recreate my project and fell short from my posting deadline. Sorry, folks!

If you haven’t noticed, I love to DIY and I love gold. I actually love metallic paint so much that I purchased all the metallic paint from the hardware store. They know me by name. They also love all my crazy ideas – like my spray painted heels but that’s another DIY project 😉 Continue reading

DIY Tutorial: Make a Drab Lamp Fab!

I have been crushing on a gold desk lamp for months. While I was cleaning out my basement, I found a white desk lamp that I was about to toss. Fireworks went off in my head and I suddenly had a bigger grin on my face than the Grinch before Christmas.

My gold desk lamp wish is FINALLY coming true.. Continue reading

Kick off the Holiday Season with STYLE!

In honor of Thanksgiving coming around the corner, I am surely in the holiday spirit! This year I will be visiting California and spending Thanksgiving with my cousins and family. I could not be more grateful to be celebrating with them this year! I am very close with my family but the distance hinders communication. I can’t wait to spend quality time with them.

Since I am not hosting Thanksgiving this year, I thought it would be nice to share gift ideas for the host to show my appreciation for having me. After all, it does take a lot of time, effort, and stress to be a host !! I feel they should be rewarded for their tremendous effort for putting together a wonderful evening. As it is the season of giving, I like to give gifts that are both functional and thoughtful.
