Our Office Moved to Caldwell, NJ!
It’s official — AMA Designs has an office in Caldwell, NJ!
While most businesses with commercial offices or storefronts have scaled down and work from home, I made the decision to do the opposite. It may sound crazy to expand during a pandemic but the current circumstances led to unique leasing opportunities in commercial real estate that I could not pass up.
Before #workfromhomelife became a lifestyle for majority of Americans, I was already working from home. I was accustomed to the challenges (and distractions) that working from home can have. However, when stay-at-home orders went into full effect; I wasn’t prepared for what was to come.
As an interior designer, I would frequently go out on appointments to see Clients, Vendors, Job sites, showrooms, and more. My schedule was diverse enough that I never felt confined to my desk or home for long periods of time.
When I transitioned my business to 100% virtual in March, something shifted within me after staying home for several months and not engaging with society in-person. Keep in mind that not only did my business go virtual but my entire lifestyle too — groceries delivered, clothing was ordered, and my social life was through Zoom. This isn’t to say that I don’t love my home because I truly love my home but I rarely left aside to walk my pup.
The perks of being a designer is that I could always change my environment to make it feel new again. I changed my house so many different ways in quarantine that I lost count. After several reiterations of my office, I was feeling tired, uninspired, unhappy, and definitely not myself.
Which is why I made the decision to lease an office space after spending 8 months from home. I believe in doing what feels good — and wow, does commuting to an office have a profound affect on how I feel! I also believe when you feel great, you produce great results.
And so… AMA Designs embarks on a new journey in an office located in Caldwell, NJ. I am so excited for this new chapter and cannot wait to share more about the area. Stay tuned for more updates!
