2022 Paint Color of the Year: Sage Green Hues

The 2022 paint color of the year is sage green hues according to the leading color experts in the industry.
The most popular paint company’s have all selected similar warm muted sage green hues. On the grayish, sage end of the spectrum, Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year for 2022, October Mist (1495); Sherwin-Williams’ 2022 pick, Evergreen Fog (SW 9130), and Behr Paint’s color of the year, Breezeway (MQ3-21)to just name a few. In Color Psychology, the color green is found to be peaceful, relaxing, and calming.
How to use the 2022 color of the year in my home?
Often when our clients, hear the word “color,” they get very intimidated straying outside of timeless neutrals.
When it comes to soft muted greens, these hues are versatile and work well with a variety of colors, regardless of the design style. Think of this “new” muted green as a neutral! The lightest shades of sage can even be a nice alternative to white, especially in a space that looks out onto a view of trees or grass.
We have used Benjamin Moore’s “October Mist” as an accent wall in a recent project. Since this was an open concept area, this color helped define the dining room space. It creates a visual of where the space starts and ends.
A great way to incorporate this color into your home besides paint — the décor. Decorative accessories such as accent pillows in sage, faux greenery such as eucalyptus leaves in vases, and artwork are some ways to add color into your home without a major commitment.
